After sixteen years of working
periodically in the tarahumara region as a physician, at times even for six months a year; providing consultations, vaccinating or assisting parturitions in extremely rustic conditions;
traveling to the most recondite and inaccessible places of the area and closely living together with the indigenous and mestizo families of the zone,
the author conceived the idea of writing a book, where to try to portray all the fascination and beauty of this mythical region.
Thus was born Rarámuri: Freedom at Twilight.
This book is not an ethnological study of the indians, but a compilation of experiences,
of short accounts, human and realistic, which allow the reader to know little by little the differents aspects of the life of the people who live there,
their dreams and believes, and the encounters of races and cultures. It is a chief subject of present time in this globalization era when the people
have lost the essential meaning of life.

The book is conceived to be illustrated with about one hundred and twenty photographs,
which have been selected from about four thousand the author has taken in the region.
The original text is in spanish and has been translated into french by the author himself. Unfortunately This book is not available in english yet.
It is currently under consideration for publication in editorial companies of Mexico and France.
